Williams Selyem 'Drake Estate Vineyard' Chardonnay 2022

This looks fantastic: there is a lot of fruit density here, showing an array of stone fruit flavours, backed by meal and grilled nut. But there is a citric element too, bringing acid and tension to the palate. 27% new oak (which doesn't look a foot out of place) brings an appropriate casing to the wine. The finish is succulent with ginger biscuit and more fleshy acidity. Great now and for at least ten years to come. - Ches Cook, FWC.
