Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown 'Village' Chardonnay 2025

Fruit sourced from a warmer and lower lying site than the single vineyard fruit and is noticebale in the style of Chardonnay. Drinks more like ‘Beechworth’ rather than alpine Stanley. This is a belter! Ripe and well judged richness with accents of brightness and flair. Great value drinking! Mitch Milicich, FWC 

Beechworth and 2025 allows for a little earlier drinking, says Tess Brown. Star Lane fruit goes in, so too Thorley vineyard wine. Slippery texture, lime on stone fruits, faint gingery elements, nougat and some vanilla cream notes. Supple, density is here but so too a freshness and bright core of zesty, minerally charm. Good energy to the wine, so too distinct varietal character and a touch of weight for good measure. 93 pts, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
