Vaira Aurelj Nebbiolo 'Controcorrente' 2023

Nebbiolo Ros clone from a tiny 0.5-hectare vineyard in Vergne, planted on calcareous-clay soils at 390 metres. Hand harvested, with a portion of whole bunch retained depending on the vintage, then naturally fermented in open vats. Soft pressed, with malolactic fermentation in oak, followed by nine months in used Slavonian oak tonneaux. Bottled without fining or filtration. Controcorrente meansagainst the tide.
