St Damien Gigondas 'Les Souteyrades' 2024
Hauntingly aromatic aromas with a rich, flamboyant and red fruited palate. The energy is palpable and the balance is sublime. The wine comes across effortlessly like all good wine should! FWC
80% Grenache (1948), 20% Mourvèdre (1977) fermented on skins for 6 weeks with about 10% whole bunches. Matured in large old 50 hl foudres for 12 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. ‘Coming from more clay soils and aged 12 months in foudre, the 2024 Gigondas Les Souteyrades is one of the biggest, richest wines in the vintage. Ripe blackberries and mulberries intermixed with pepper, garrigue, and Provençal spices all emerge from the glass. It's medium to full-bodied, round, mouthfilling, and textured, with beautiful overall balance and length. I'd happily be a buyer.’
