St Damien Cotes du Rhone Blanc ‘Clos du Cordier’ 2025
Clairette bringing the flavour and Bourboulenc bringing the line and freshness. Delightful and well-priced 25’ Rhone white that is equal parts delicious and considered...Very easy to drink and to pair with food. A great example of a simple blend done extremely well. FWC
50 % Clairette and 50 % Bourboulenc from a new vineyard (35 yo vines) purchased in 2022 in Buisson north-west from Vaison La Romaine (not far from Vinsobres). Whole bunch pressed and cool-fermented in 50 % stainless steel and 50 % barrique, then matured for 6 months on fine lees with batonnage to build texture. Review for 2024, none yet for 2025: ‘… blossoms nicely to offer up scents of lemon, fresh pineapple, a nice foundation of soil, white flowers and a topnote of lime peel. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a fine core of fruit, very good soil signature, zesty acids and a long, well balanced finish.’ 89 points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar, November 2025
