Soumah Barbera Nebbiolo 2023

Soumah continues to impress, seemingly having the secret recipe to creating exciting wines that don?t break the bank. We carried this wine a few years ago, so we?re glad to welcome it back to the shelves this season. This year?s release is mainly made up of Yarra Valley Nebbiolo, blended with Barbera out of the King Valley. It replicates the ?drinking? wines of Piedmont in northern Italy, and successfully brings the plump fruit and juicy acidity that is inherent to Barbera, with the prettiness and floral lift that quality Nebbiolo can achieve. As with many of the Soumah wines, it drinks well above its modest price. ? Ches Cook, FWC.
