Sorrenberg Cabernet Blend 2024
I tasted the Cabernet blend last month before release and it’s such a beautiful wine! Complex bright fruit matched with autumnal toned with layers of charm. The palate weight is gentle, supple and forthcoming yet the fineness of the tannins and structure are exemplary. A lovely vintage of this wine! Drink now or hold. Mitch Milicich, FWC
The warm conditions of the 2024 growing season allowed our Bordeaux varieties to achieve excellent ripeness while retaining balance and elegance. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc & 20% Merlot, with the balance comprising Petit Verdot, Malbec and Carménère. Low crop levels and natural fermentation on skins for four weeks were followed by 24 months' maturation in French oak before bottling
without fining or filtration. Blackcurrant and blackberry are complemented by subtle notes of white pepper and spice. The palate is generous and beautifully balanced, with a rich mouthfeel and fine, silky tannins. Barry and Bernard believe this wine has excellent cellaring potential, although it is drinking beautifully now. Winery Note
