Sordo Barolo Monvigliero 2021

One of the warmest Barolo crus and fast becoming one of the most sought-after (you know it’s hot property when Vietti starts buying land here). Red liquorice, iodine, a distinctly ferrous component to an otherwise pretty exterior. Charcuterie and hung meat, black cherry and cherry pip. As the importer said “this is everyone’s idea of Barolo: red stuff, dark stuff mystifying stuff.” I love it. – Ches Cook, FWC. 

This red leans to the darker fruit side, boasting black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant flavours. Violet, graphite, and wild rosemary and thyme add depth as this cruises to the long aftertaste.
