Rousseau Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru 2023
The 2023 Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru has turned out especially well this year, unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, baking chocolate, exotic spices, petals and pen ink. Medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy, with suave tannins and a fresh, vibrant core of fruit, it concludes with a saline finish.
93-95 pts, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
This is notably more floral-infused with a slightly spicier combination of the sauvage, red and dark cherry and plenty of just turned earth. As is almost always the case, there is better volume to the more mineral-driven and powerful medium weight flavors that deliver excellent length on the equally well-balanced finale. This is lovely and quite clearly at another level. 92-95 pts, Allen Meadows, Burghound
