Passopisciaro 'Passorosso' Etna Rosso 2022

Cherry, raspberry, something of a hot BBQ grill thing here, flowers and herbs, almond paste. It’s medium-bodied, pretty firm and chalky in tannin, slightly burnt sage sausage in with tangy red fruits and blood orange, crisp on the finish with lots of crushed rock tannin, good length, with an amaro twang to close. It’s a bit raw and elemental at the moment, though it should come together well over the medium term. Drink 2026 – 2032, 92 points, Gary S Walsh, The Wine Front.
