Mount Mary 'Reflexions' Cabernets 2023

A kind of ‘baby Quintet’ is the gist. Ready to drink, also the idea. Per se. From a blend of 85% cabernet sauvignon, 10% cabernet franc and 5% merlot.
Magnificent perfume, blue fruits, lavender, dried Italianate herbs, new leather, white pepper and choc mint. More of the same to taste with an attractive puddle of plum compote, dried fig and juicy, black cherry in the mix. Sloshes around the palate with visceral pleasure, a looser knit red with lusty flavour and yet a coolness underlying. Big glasses, fire side and getting lost in something else, but the wine as a backdrop. I can see it now. 94 points, drink 2025-2033, Mike Bennie, the Wine Front.
