Moorooduc McIntyre Pinot Noir 2023
Its hard to imagine the Mornington peninsula without Moorooduc. The McIntyre family's wines have long been my Mornington reference point, and a wine like this shows exactly why. There's an unwavering commitment to letting pinot be pinot, and an understanding that its greatest virtue is delicacy, not density. This is beautifully fine and filigreed, a wine of neatly layered red fruits and deft floral lift. It's lacy and long, with laser-cut acid lines and softly expansive, talcy tannins. 96 points, Nick Ryan, The Australian.
This is a dry, structural Pinot Noir with black cherry and ferrous-like qualities wedded to smoky oak and twiggy herbs. It’s sitting well back in the palate for now and will take time to show its best. Substance, it has plenty. 92+ points, drink 2027-2033+, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
