Littorai Thieriot Chardonnay 2022
This wine shows great aromatic volume already. Aromas of honeydew melon, lemon peel, yellow rose, chamomile, linden and green teas. A hint of the wet seashells here. This is a very precise wine with great energy, spikey acidity, and a very long finish. A hint of phenolics lends flair to the finish. As usual the most edgy of the Littorai chardonnay bottlings. Ted Lemon, Winemaker.
The 2022 Chardonnay Thieriot Vineyard is a vibrant, dynamic wine, as Chardonnays from this site tend to be. Crystalline and weightless, with terrific energy, the 2022 is all nerve. Lemon peel, crushed rocks, slate, white pepper and a host of saline-inflected nuances linger on the persistent close. Antonio Galloni.
From vines planted in 1996, the 2022 Chardonnay B.A. Thieriot Vineyard is scented of white peaches, meringue, beeswax, cracked almonds and oyster shell. The light-bodied palate is tangy and energetic despite its layered flavors, which are expressive yet pleasantly restrained in terms of ripeness. Its mineral character adds complexity and a shimmery feel, and it has a very long, nuanced finish. 398 cases were made. 94+, drink 2025-2035, Erin Brooks.
