Lignier-Michelot Chambolle Musigny Vielles Vignes 2019
From 2 parcels (Les Drazey and Les Gamaires) below Bonnes Mares planted in the 1950's and 1960's totalling 1.48 hectares. A deep, rich and generous Chambolle of great finesse and class.
'70% whole bunch. The grapes come from Les Drazey and Gamaires. Complete ripe purple. The nose is not giving much, dense tight dark fruit with good acidity. The tannins are present but in balance with the fruit, dark red fruit, decent length. Tasted: November 2020' 91-93 points, Jasper Morris MW, June 2021.
'(from 50+ year old vines in Les Drazey and Gamaires; 80% whole cluster). A much less expressive nose reluctantly offers up pretty floral and ripe aromas of plum liqueur and various dark berries. The delicious medium weight flavors possess a caressing, indeed almost creamy mid-palate, that is highly seductive, all wrapped in a youthfully austere, mineral-driven and refreshing finale. This is lovely and worth considering. Drink 2027+.' (88-91) points. Allen Meadows, Burghound.com.
