La Croix de Brully Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Beaune 2022
This is a very attractive proposition. There’s immediate appeal to this Chardonnay with typical stone fruit flavours and good generosity. There’s a savoury element (macadamia nut) and a pinch of roundness to the mouthfeel and shape of the wine. It’s medium bodied with only faint oak influence detectable. - Ches Cook, Five Way Cellars.
The Domaine currently extends over 14 hectares of vineyards, of which 8 are planted with Pinot Noir and 6 with Chardonnay. The property is made up of a mosaic of small parcels, located in different areas of Burgundy ranging from the Côte Chalonnaise to the Côte de Nuits. The first vineyards belonging to the Domaine La Croix de Brully were purchased by the Peculier family in 1992. Today, the vines have an average age of about 50 years.
The wines are produced exclusively with estate grapes, for this reason great attention is paid to the management of the vineyards. The agronomic management is aimed at a careful and sustainable approach, capable of enhancing the specificities of each individual terroir, enhancing the varietal expression. The approach is to combine innovation with knowledge of traditional agronomic practices.
The wines of the Domaine La Croix De Brully are all vinified in Saint-Aubin and, also in this case, are the result of modern techniques and traditional knowledge. The vinification takes place in parcels so as to respect and preserve the origin of the fruit, its expression and the richness of the Burgundian terroir.
