La Ca' Nova Barbaresco 2019
2019 is regarded as a classic and ageworthy vintage, generally speaking across Piedmont, with wines able to develop good ripeness, structure and balance across most communes. The 2019 Barbaresco is a treat! exuding classic ripe strawberry, orange peel, dusty tannins and poised acidity. La Ca’ Nova also produces two single cru wines ‘Montefico’ and ‘Montestefano’ which are also worth seeking out. Drink now or hold. Mitch Milicich, FWC
La Ca' Nova 2019 Barbaresco will tempt readers with its effusive aromatics and compelling Nebbiolo fruit, but a few years in bottle are advisable to help the tannins soft. Medium in body and wonderfully translucent, the 2019 is such a great example of what Barbaresco should be. Bright red fruit, orange peel, white pepper, mint and crushed rocks lend striking energy throughout. Vibrant saline notes support the dry, bracing finish. Vineyard sites are Ovello, Cole and Loreto. 93 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.
All the liquorice root and fragrance here, strawberry and assorted spice, a little tea and mint. Medium-bodied, ripe and a little creamy but fine-boned and fresh, some orange peel and more spice, cool acidity, distinct ‘mineral’ feel, tea and firm brick dust tannin close it out. Classic Barberesco, and so beautifully made. Yes! Rated : 95 Points. Wine Front.
