Grapes from further south in the Hawke’s Bay region grown on limestone soil. Michael noted that he had always wanted to make Chardonnay off limestone and this is a great point of difference to the other Kumeu wines grown on predominantly clay. Pure and direct, there is less extract, providing a freshness and slighter frame. Chalky texture, chiselled with detailed minerality.
