Julian Haart Piesporter Riesling 2020
Leading with attractive reduction, the nose reveals layered exotic lime, bay leaf, dried lemon, slate rock minerality moving into oyster shell territory. The wine has has evolved nicely in bottle, sitting in a ideal drinking spot. Lovely tension between tightness and generosity. First thought was to pair with battered Fish & Chips at Neilson park. Mitch Milicich, FWC
"Extremely high-definition nose of citrus and savory elements. Very concentrated for a village wine, with razor-sharp minerality. Not a hint of the baroque character that this location often gives. Super-bright finish with a delicate tannin structure that supports this beautifully. Drinkable now, but best from 2022." 94 points. Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com.
“A high proportion of whole bunches was used during fermentation of this village wine, giving an excitingly complex wine full of fresh herbs, yellow orchard fruit and a very juicy lemony and slate dark finish. "A massive success and gives many GGs and other high-end dry wines more than a run for their money." Mosel Fine Wines.
