Joshua Cooper Claret 2025
Claret done so well, feels assured and tight and also fresh and forward. The Merlot in the blend speaks strongest and is highly recommended. Barbeque red or for the approaching autumnal dishes. Mitch Milicich, FWC
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec, made in a slightly softer and more fruit-forward style than our other Cabernet wines, though with enough structure to enjoy both now or later.
Bright garnet in colour, the Claret is full of blood plum, cassis and creamy black cherry fruit, while subtle tobacco, violet and iodine add complexity. Plush and full of purple berry fruit, the palate is light enough for luncheon drinking, yet also has enough stuffing and structure to take serious food matching, or some time in the cellar. 2025 is a particularly strong vintage for this wine and sadly made in quite limited quantity due to the dry season. Winery note
Vivid purple-black colour. Lush, chocolatey, rich and soft. Blueberry, mulberry, twists of mint and sage leaf with touches of green olive, faint cedar and a touch of resinous Brazil nut character. Very smooth, silky, a faint grip to close, just. Relatively elementary, but lots of pleasure and ease of drinking here. 91 pts, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
