Jean-Luc Jamet Cote-Rotie 'Les Terrasses' 2018
I tasted four different lots that will go into Jamet's 2018 Cote Rotie. All showed wonderfully silky, elegant tannins, which should make the wine approachable when young. Aromas and flavors range from violets and raspberries to darker notes of cassis and blueberry in these generally full-bodied barrel samples. 92-95 Points - Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate

I tasted this relatively quickly as part of a larger, blind tasting.
This is all herbs, florals and spice. Seems archetypal shiraz-viognier style. Almost into tomato-leaf acidity, almost into bushfire smoke but not quite. Huge presence on the palate, dry and spicy but so long. Prettiness writ large. Almost into candied florals, such is the intensity, the headlong and irresistible charge at the exquisite. Fruits, twigs, flowers, rocks and earth. Loaded dice of a wine. Beautiful.
