Jasper Hill Emily's Paddock Shiraz 2023
Black cherries and black plums are up front with aromas of black tea, earth, sage and pencil shavings also. There's a density and juiciness to the core of black fruit and with the fruit not being in any way sweet there's an overall savouriness to the wine that's very appealing. The Laughton's have managed the balance of core black fruit and acidity extremely well, the plush and broad tannins provide a great structural framework. Like the Georgia's Paddock there's no discernible heat for a wine of 15% alcohol which shows how well all the elements sit together. Recommended, Cameron Roebuck, FWC.
Full bodied, yet very approachable, Emily’s keeps on giving. Brilliant magenta in colour, this wine will stain. Intense dark fruits of cherry, raspberry and plum, followed through with a hint of mint and dark chocolate. Structured chalky tannins and balanced natural acidity allows this wine to be cellared. High grade cork sealed, 15.0% alcohol. Winery's notes.
