Henri Germain Bourgogne Aligote 2021
$85
This rare Aligoté is drawn from a single plot of vines planted in 1977 in a terroir known as Les Plançons in Meursault. The grapes were harvested in late September (the last to be picked) and then aged in both barrique and tank for 12 months. The wine was then blended and rested for a further five months in tank before being bottled. It’s a superb Aligoté—racy, juicy and vibrantly fresh. Importer’s notes.
“Last to be picked, on 28th. Quite full mid yellow, soft and ripe on the nose, a little bit of freshly baked apple. Then much tighter and tenser on the palate, raw greengage and a bit of apple. Very lively, quite old style in that respect, and with good length.” 87-88 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
