Grosset Springvale Riesling 2023

Springvale 2023 is very aromatic from the outset, with notes of green apple, peeled lemon and musk stick. It shows nice ripeness, going beyond the typical lemon/lime profile of other Clare Rieslings and into red and green apple, orchard fruit and red apple skin. There are even suggestions of grapefruit. As always, acid is strong but importantly, very nicely integrated and fleshy, rather than obtrusive. If drinking any of the Rieslings young, this is the one to get into.  - Ches Cook, FWC.

Well, seriously, the 2023 Grosset rieslings are wonderful. This has you at hello. It’s structured and a touch reserved but there’s decent flavour both at the outset and throughout and then the finish, well, it saves its best for last. This wine really does seal the deal. Chalk, lime, fennel, a grainy/skinsy aspect to the finish but this is a wine of great fruit purity, finesse and finish. It’s delicious. It impresses with its structure.
