Gerard Raphet Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2022
$650
Note: from a .33 ha parcel, two-thirds of which was replanted in 1982 with the remaining vines planted in the 1920s.
An exceptionally pretty, even perfumed, nose wafts from the glass while revealing notes of plum, red currant and a hint of exotic tea. The plump, round and delicious larger-bodied flavors are almost easy-going on the mid-palate yet the balanced and lingering finish tighten up sufficiently to strongly suggest that at least a decade will be necessary to resolve the supporting structure. Which, in its fashion, is just as well as this could use more depth anyway. Drink 2032+. 91-93 Points. Allen Meadows, BURGHOUND.
