Foradori Teroldego 2023
From a rocky vineyard at elevation. Eight months on skins in amphora. Masterful teroldego producers at this famed family winegrower.
Teroldego often comes with a little rusticity in profile, wet herbs, turned earth, a touch of ferrous character, and none of that is missing here. There’s alpine characters alongside too, florals, fresh mint, aromatic grass, pine needle and assorted wild herbs. Red cherry is a mainstay too, a little snappy and sappy, just ripe and crunchy but with enough juicy dribble to lend depth and some slosh to texture. Tannins ripple through, lightly grippy, a touch silty, a lick of limestone and saline minerality alongside. You can say lighter weight but intense red wine of perfume, savouriness and freshness. It needs a few hours decant/open to get its best in youth, but boy, is it a personality packed, vibrant wine.
