Faiveley Nuits St Georges 1er Cru 'Les St Georges' 2022
Captivating nose of spiced red fruits and a touch of red currant. The refined intensity is very special and rarely seen in Nuits St Georges – apart from Les Saint-George – the best appellation in Nuits. Layers of red fruit, brown spices and forest floor. “Easily Grand Cru standard”.
Cellar 10-20 years. Ian Cook, FWC
The 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-Georges unwinds in the glass with notes of dark berries, orange zest, exotic spices and peonies, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and richly layered palate, its generous core of fruit framed by sweet, powdery tannins. Seamless and complete, it's almost the stylistic opposite of the ethereal Damodes.
Jérôme Flous and his team have produced another compelling range of 2022s, and it's hardly surprising, given the high level of vineyard management chez Faiveley or the skill and precision brought to bear in the winery and the cellar. As is often the case up and down the Côte d'Or, the style is more delicate and sensual than was the case in 2020, and the wines seem set to offer broad drinking windows. 92-94 Pts,William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
