Dirupi Rosso di Valtellina 'Ole' 2020

Nebbiolo from Lombardy. Lombardy as one of Italy's most northern wine regions is benefiting from rising temperatures in area that traditionally had struggled to ripen Nebbiolo. In the shadow of the Italian Alps these wines have a signature Alpine freshness and their own style of Nebbiolo compared to the more structured wines of Barolo.

The 4 of us at Five Way Cellars recently tasted a range of Italian rosso's with the view to adding some new wines to the shop. This 100% Nebbiolo from Dipuri really appealed to me amongst the line up of wines with it's wild raspberry and light savoury note on the nose, it's bouquet kept me coming back to the glass. On the palate it 's light on it's feet with an attractive amaro note on the finish and the tannin's neatly frame the fruit.  A wine to been joyed now, a  really good example of Nebbiolo coming out of Lombardy.   - Cameron Roebuck, FWC.
