Criante Catarratto C24 2024
C24 is best described as a Mediterranean white, but what exactly does that mean? For me, it is best described as a wine you'd drink in the mid-afternoon with your feet dangling off a boat off the coast of Sicily. Or it could easily be on the harbour in Sydney. It could be by the pool in your backyard. Or in your backyard without a pool. You get it. It's a wine that favours freshness over complexity, citric and saline flavours over anything weighty or heavy. It's priced perfectly - the sort of wine you don't need to feel guilty about opening on the spur of the moment when a friend shows up out of the blue. - Ches Cook, FWC.
“C24” by Criante is a fresh and easy-drinking white wine that comes from 100% Catarratto grapes. 2 days of maceration on the skins, spontaneous fermentation and subsequent aging on the fine lees for 6 months.
