Crawford River Strata Riesling 2024
Note from Crawford River
Intense, white florals and powdery, musk perfume. Fresh, white peach. Chalky texture underpinned by a long line of innate acidity and inherent minerality. Through the line of salivating acidy, there is softness and a supple roundness that makes this wine utterly delicious drinking.
Previously called 'Young Vines'.
Formerly called the Young Vines release but the vines are now over 20 years old, not so young anymore. When tasting, Ian stated truly that many producers would be happy for this to be their top Riesling, such is it's continual quality.
It's more floral and lifted than their 'estate' Riesling showing prettier spice, pink lady apple, mandarin and orange oil. An open knit, juicier expression this year, it shows so much immediate enjoyment. The signature cool climate zip and verve kicks through at giving a taught finish thus promising a decade or more life in it to evolve. However, such is it's pleasurability now, you'll struggle to keep your hands off it. Jeremy Muller, FWC.
