Chatto Savigny Les Beaune 'Les Lavieres' 1er Cru 2022

'Les Lavieres' is perhaps a touch more aromatically lifted than 'Aux Vergelesses' but only marginally. I find it a touch more linear, too, with a fleshy acid backbone driving flavours quite long. Overall the flavour profile isn't wildly different to it's sibling, with differences more in the structure and shape of the wine. This wine comes from a site with a pinch more elevation that 'Aux Vergelesses' sitting at 250-280m elevation, perhaps being partially responsible for the acid mentioned earlier. Overall though, this is a silky and seductive Pinot that is a great contender for early consumption. - Ches Cook, Five Way Cellars.
