Chatto Savigny Les Beaune 'Aux Vergelesses' 1er Cru 2022

As we tasted these two wines from Burgundy from Chatto, we were discussing how it is difficult to generalise around the style of wine from Savigny Les Beaune. Some wines can be quite rustic and old-school in style while others can be quite fruit-forward. This wine, while not being fruit-rich, is silky and polished, as you may expect from a new world wine maker. It's quite elegant and effortless, with a slow release of sweet fruit, showing red berry and wild strawberry flavours. It's a super-delicious wine - well done Jim. - Ches Cook, Five Way Cellars.
