Chatto 'Killara Farm' Pinot Noir 2023

We’re now into the single vineyard wines, with Killara Farm being located in Coal River, 30 minutes north of Hobart. It has what I think to be a typical Tasmania fruit profile, with blue and black fruit with considerable weight to it. There is also a bit of briar and undergrowth bringing another dimension to the wine and a counterpoint to the primary fruit. There is something unique here, justifying making a single vineyard wine, showing flavours of black tea and faint notes of liquorice. – Ches Cook, FWC.
