Burklin Wolf Wachenheim Village Riesling 2022
We have tried 2022 German Rieslings from a number of producers and they all show a similar quality – excellent concentration and excitement now but no lack of vibrancy. This is no different. It’s taught and structured yet excellent density. Flavours of citrus oil, both lemon and orange, golden tree fruits and touches of white pepper. Chalky grip adds another brilliant layer. Excellent. Chesterton Cook & Jeremy Muller, FWC.
‘Cool and delicate nose of star fruit, pineapple and mint. Still a little closed, but compact and elegant on the generous and well-structured palate, then comes the long chalky finish. Excellent potential. From biodynamically grown grapes. Mainly wild-fermented in large neutral oak casks. Vegan. Drink or hold. Screw cap.’ 93 points, Stuart Pigott, JS Wine Ratings, July 2023.
