Berne Chiroubles Les Terraces 2022

A Beaujolais of real substance. This is a wine with ample fruit weight and vitality. I assume the hot dry vintage has contributed here, but in this case it has helped the wine. Look for flavours of black cherry, cherry pip and brown spices. - Ches Cook, Five Way Cellars.

This is a single-vineyard cuvée from the "Terrasses" vineyards in the Chiroubles appellation, which are among the highest in Beaujolais. The vines are planted on a slope of pink granite. The grapes reach excellent ripeness but retain freshness thanks to the altitude. The resulting wines are rich and full-bodied with tension, all carried by aromas of red fruit and spice. Winery note.
