Benjamin Leroux Grand Cru Griottes-Chambertin 2020 Magnum
$2,730
Natural cork. One of our smallest allocations… This is not a new vineyard for Ben, although it is our first allocation. At 2.73 hectares, Griottes is the smallest of the Gevrey Grand Crus, and Leroux’s vines sit in the upper section, to the south. Just one 500-litre barrel was produced this year.
“Made in a single double sized barrel, to be bottled only in magnum format. Deep crimson purple, this is slightly more sombre in its fruit make up, yet with excellent delicacy behind, and then blossoms outwards, with a charming suavity, more strawberry than raspberry, long and fine.” 94-96 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.
