Alex Lamblot New Mouvance 2021
Alexandre Lamblot is a 13th-generation grower-producer of Champagne based in Janvry in the Petite Montagne de Reims. He represents a new wave of natural-leaning vignerons in Champagne, known for making small-production, terroir-driven wines with a strong emphasis on organic and biodynamic farming and biodiversity in his vineyards.
Lamblot farms about 3.5 hectares of vines scattered across Vrigny, Chenay, Janvry and Gueux, much of it inherited from his family and some rented. His viticultural approach minimizes mechanization, encourages cover crops and indigenous plants, and even incorporates agroforestry and chickens to enhance soil health and vitality.
Lamblot’s wines are highly regarded for their purity, complexity and sense of place, and his work stands out for its environmentally conscious ethos and artisanal craftsmanship in the heart of Champagne.
77% Pinot Noir, 15% Pinot Meunier, 8% Chardonnay. Complex and bright, Mouvance is a blend of Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from old vine plots in the villages of Vrigny and Chenay. The term "Mouvance" translates to "movement" and refers to the dependence of one phenomenon on another. From endless efforts in the vineyards to meticulous details in the cellar, Alexandre Lamblot is in constant motion and this wine is emblematic of the spirit of a domaine that is going places.
