Trimbach Riesling Grand Cru 'Schlossberg' 2020

In 2012 Trimbach purchased a 2 ha site in this south facing granite based Grand cru. Their holding is located quite high up on the slope near the castle and benefits from the cool air flowing out of the forest which results in a wine of freshness and great finesse, length and refinement.

'This has rich stone-fruit aromas and a touch of something exotic, the balance of fruit and mineral freshness very impressive, the power and concentration underplayed until you get to the long, complete finish, where they show their hand strongly. 'The 2020 Riesling Schlossberg Grand Cru grows on granite with a little gneiss and benefits from the coolness of the altitude. A touch of green apple and a brighter, lighter citrus shines on the nose. Its beautifully cool, utterly stony, precise and concentrated, yet with the perfume of lemon, green pear and apple.
