Salo Chardonnay 2023

Winemaker Steve Flamsteed reckons this is his best rendition to date of this
wine (it’s his 11th vintage overall). Many of you will know of Steve from his
days in charge at Giant Steps (a winery he still consults to). Fruit for this comes
from the Full Moon Vineyard in the lower Yarra, and due to the cool season,
fruit was given ample time on the vine to hang out and ripen. The result is a
medium bodied wine with golden orchard fruit on display, as well and almond
meal and red apple skin. There’s an attractive crackle of acidity which is
