Riggs & Wiggs 'Cullarin' Chardonnay 2024

The Cullarin Vineyard sits overlooking Lake George in NSW near the ACT border. Established by Dr Edgar Riek in 1971, it is the oldest vineyard in the greater Canberra wine region.

A modern cool climate Chardonnay. Perfect colour with green tints, lifted grilled nuts and citrus characters. Time on lees has added complexity and palate depth, complemented with a fine acid finish.

Lake George, NSW

Peter Wiggs owns this special vineyard at a cool 700 metres altitude. Lots of citrus, grilled nut and nougat - already excellent length and complexity. Quite fine boned, yet ample depth. My pick when put side by side with the Hunter chardonnay.
