Patrick Sullivan Woori Yallock Chardonnay 2024
The pick of the bunch from an incredibly strong lineup. Woori Yallock holds the power and tension of the other wines, but there is a cloak of elegance over the wine in this case. The texture and mouthfeel come across as finer and completely seamless. As well as the ripe stone fruit flavours, there is some white stone fruit here too, providing more of a crunch of freshness. The acid seems to elevate both flavours and aromas to a level above what is seen in the other wines. A great example of the heights Australian Chardonnay is reaching in recent years. – Ches Cook, FWC.
Located at Woori Yallock in the upper reaches of the Yarra
Valley, the Lusatia Park vineyard sits on an excellent north-facing slope at
an almost perfect altitude for this part of Victoria. The vineyard was planted
in 1985 and is situated on the much desired red basalt soils
that contribute to the extraordinary length the wines provide.
NOSE: Vibrant candied lime, makrut lime leaf, ripe apricot, fresh brioche
and spice notes.
PALATE: Crisp acidity and minerality with a hint of oak and a luxurious texture. A
long, chalky finish balances power, finesse and complexity. Patrick’s notes.
