Moorooduc Robinson Chardonnay 2022
It's always a great pleasure when Kate McIntyre M.W. pops into the shop to show us through the latest releases from Moorooduc. One of the longer established wineries on the Mornington Peninsula
A barrel selection from the Robinson vineyard. Immediate notes of macadamia and nougat on the nose with white nectarine and grapefruit sitting alongside. There's some breadth of fruit on the palate but all in balance with the acidity and some slight textural elements adding to the wine's overall complexity. Delicious drinking and an excellent example of a modern chardonnay to be enjoyed now or over the coming years. Cameron, FWC.
As elegant as a Givenchy evening gown. All silky and fine ? this is as pure, long and textural as they come. Yes, flavours satisfy from nougat, white nectarine and Meyer lemon with a layer of luscious lees, but all that sits behind how this wine feels. And it feels good. Moreish with juicy acidity a feature in ?21. Drink to 2031. 96 Points. Jane Faulkner, Halliday's Wine Companion.
