Matrot Meursault 2022
Vines with an average age of 35 years. We mix together 12 plots in order to make a classic, representative Meursault wine. A pure wine with character, often described as a sweet and dry wine. It has hints of yellow fruit with a citrus finish. - Adèle & Elsa Matrot.
The bouquet is elegant and mineral-driven, with hints of white flowers and citrus zest. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of ripe orchard fruits, such as pear and golden apple, complemented by a touch of toasted hazelnut and a subtle saline edge. With good concentration and a lingering, textured finish, it shows strong aging potential. Importer’s notes.
The 2022 Meursault Village contains no new oak, as usual. The lively bouquet has enticing scents of dried honey, peppermint and orange pith. This just grows in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly viscous texture and fine acidity. It’s quite spicy with a dash of stem ginger towards the persistent finish. Very promising.
