JJ Prum Graacher Himmelreich Auslese 2021
“The 2021er Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese proves hugely refreshing as intense scents of mint, green herbs, and smoke first come through. With more airing, it shows almond cream, tangerine, lead pencil, and flint stone. The wine shows a lot more presence and ripeness as rich and almost exotic flavors of tangerine, candied pineapple, honeyed peach, and a hint of apricot. The finish is very precise and long, and the after-taste is creamy and more delicate. It proves still very much work in progress and has easily upside potential with time. 2031-2051” 94+ points, Jean Fisch and David Rayer, Mosel Fine Wines
The 2021 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese is very clear, pure and refined on the fascinating, flinty, finely concentrated and lemon-scented nose. Lush and savory on the palate, with crystalline acidity and great precision, this is a supple yet frisky as well as substantial and sustainable Auslese from the Himmelreich, and it develops a long, complex and saline finish. This is highly stimulating already, but the best is yet to come here. 7% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2023. Drink 2023-2055. 95 Points. Stephen Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate.
Yellow stone fruit, apple skin, honey nougat flavours and almost a frangipane texture. It has a rich, creamy entry but driving, yet filigree acidity leaves so savoury and almost dry on the finish. All the Graacher wines have this character this vintage and we love it. Really minerally and long to finish. Superb Auslese. JeremyMuller & Ian Cook, FWC.
