Jim Barry Lodge Hill Riesling Museum Release 2014
Tasted recently at ten years of age, this is in a lovely spot. Grilled lime is a high note, with a nutty, biscuity bite to the second half of the wine. Acid is as firm and lively as ever, and all indications suggest this will go another ten years, easy. Still, at this age, with one foot in the camp of freshness and one in the camp of development, it’s a great time to drink Lodge Hill 2014. – Ches Cook, FWC.
One of the highest vineyards in the Clare Valley at 480m, next to Petaluma's celebrated Hanlin Hill vineyard, and looking out to Spencer Gulf, 65 km away. Classic dry Clare style, with lemon, lime and apple blossom aromas, the strongly structured palate following suit with a base of chalky/minerally acidity. 94 Points. Halliday's Wine Companion (2014).
