Domaine Rougeot Nature Bourgogne Blanc 'Les Grandes Gouttes' 2020

From excellent Meursault based Domaine Rougeot, this is their no sulphur added range. Using only the barrels where sulfur is not needed due to their stability, this are precise, energetic and exciting wines.

From a vineyard next to Meursaul 1er Charmes and Puligny Montrachet. Expressive aromas of lees, wet stone and hints of white stonefruit. This shows a definite Meursault style with nice creamy weight in the palate but also a nice driving tension. Touches of spice and popcorn add welcome complexity, likely from the extended elevage in barrel. Fantastic Chardonnay here that bats above it's Bourgogne classification. Jeremy Muller, FWC.
