Comtes Lafon Meursault 2021
The village-level Meursault from Lafon is a reference for the appellation. The 2021 vintage boasts spot on typical aromas of ripe apple, butter, and marzipan with just a hint of spice from the barrel ageing. The grapes come from a blend of village-level lieux-dits that make it a great overall view of the character of the village. There is a lovely balance between the fresh acidity and substantial extract on the palate. This wine should drink well young but will continue to improve for a decade. Drink: 2025-2045. 93 Points. All blended and back to barrel. A touch of lemon in the colour, clean and without reduction, quite a strict style for Meursault. There is quite a lot more fruit concentration than the Clos de la Baronne alone, with some racy fresh apples to finish. Good persistence. Drink: 2025-2028. 90-92 Points. Jasper Morris- Inside Burgundy
