Cisteller 'Gris' Xarel·lo Vermell 2022

Poured by the knowledgeable and eloquent importer Lachlan Barber in store at a recent Spanish event, Cisteller are making some very interesting and contemporary wine with great packaging. Pure and seamless mouthfeel with great cohesion between structure and fruit. A Gris made from Xarel-lo Vermell, which is a red skinned variety a genetic mutation of the white Xarel-lo variety. The wine see's a low pressure press in the winery, made in a "vin gris style, with no maceration" which barely imparts any colour into the finished wine. The grape juice is put to tank with a good amount of lees to create texture and build structure. A compelling and unique wine and a producer worthy of exploration. 1188 bottles produced. Mitch Milicich FWC.
