Littorai Mays Canyon Pinot Noir 2022 Magnum

Mays Canyon is one of the most floral of the 2022 wines.  It shows spices, rhum cake, earl grey tea, dried cherry, blackberry pie, tobacco, confectionary and cocoa tones.  This is another wine which is on the delicate end of the 2022 spectrum.  It builds slowly and shows beautiful harmony.  This is an elegant version of Mays Canyon which will drink very well young. The 2022 Pinot Noir Mays Canyon is a distinctly savory, earthy Pinot. It’s a wine of notable aromatic and flavor complexity, with the fruit pushed more in the background. The Mays Canyon provides a fascinating contrast to the Savoy Pinot that preceded it in this tasting. Attractive floral undertones linger.

From vines planted in 1999, the 2022 Pinot Noir Mays Canyon is bursting with wild raspberry and blackberry aromas accented by notes of cola, Earl Grey tea leaves, saline and spice. The light-bodied palate has a silky texture and bright acidity. It's defined by graceful fruit—flavorful but restrained in ripeness—and generous spicy layers, and it has a long, bitters-laced finish. Just 60 cases were made.
