Dating back to 1802, the Gonet family have been producing wine in Avize, in the heart of the Cote des Blancs, for over two centuries. Sophie Signolle Gonet and her brother Charles-Henri are seventh generation winegrowers who have an adventurous flair for producing wines that express the typicity of their special terroir and the unique characteristics of each vintage. The Grand Crus derive from the village of Mesnil-sur-Oger, a terroir famous for bringing tension, minerality and incomparable length to the Chardonnay. Here, Gonet shares illustrious company, with the likes of Krug and Salon a literal stone's throw away. The family's blends are bolstered with Chardonnay from Vindey in the Cote de Sezanne, and the chalk hill of Montgueux in the Aube. Pinot Noir used for making their delightful Blanc de Noirs and Rose comes from a family plot nestled on the cool slopes of Fravaux in the Cote des Bar.
