Comarcal 'Del Moro' Merseguera Blanco 2022

Merseguera is a little-known white wine grape variety grown along the southeastern
coast of Spain. I’d certainly never heard of it until I was introduced
to this wine in September of this year. 1940s plantings with deep roots and
a tolerance for drought-like conditions. The wine these vines produce is
moderate in acid but fresh and light on the palate. There’s a drop of sea water
here, with a saline wash across flavours of lemon balm and green apple. It’s an
affordable summer drink if I ever saw one. – Ches Cook, FWC.
